APTE PROMOTES THE COLLABORATION BETWEEN SPANISH AND SOUTH KOREAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARKS DURING THE 27th IASP WORLD CONFERENCE.

During the IASP World Conference, celebrated in South Korea, APTE has promoted the signature of a collaboration agreement in the area of neuroscience between enterprises of Spain and South Korea.

 

Between the 23th and 26th of May it has been celebrated in Daejeon (South Korea) the 27º World Conference of science and technology parks, organized by IASP (International Association of Technology Parks) and Daedeok Innopolis, the host park of the conference.

 

The motto of this year, Global Green Growth, pretends to emphasize the growing concern of science and technology about environment and its role in the future. This motto fits with the starting up by the Korean government of its state plan of economic development based on the environmental protection and clean technology.

 

The meeting has received more than 1,000 people from 57 countries, standing out the Spanish delegation, with representative people of 17 science and technology parks. During the conference, the president of APTE, Felipe Romera, the Vicepresidents of APTE, Francesc Martos, José Luís Virumbrales, Josep Piqué, and Francisco Berjón, and the president of IASP, Joan Bellavista, have had a meeting with the president of the Yellow Sea Free Economic Zone (YESEF), the Korean association of parks, to know the possibilities of installing Spanish companies in the 5 technology areas that the Korean association manages, and where there are already working companies like Samsung Electronics, LG Display, Kia Motors, etc.

 

APTE has also signed a collaboration agreement with a company from Daedeok Innopolis, S&T Global. Through this agreement it will start different actions on technology transfer between this company and Spanish companies installed in parks members of APTE, with the objective of promoting projects of R&D together.

 

The Spanish delegation also had the opportunity of getting to know the details of the Korean national plan of innovation, during the reunion with Yun Yong, representative of the Korean government. This plan of innovation includes 3 main aims:

 

- To mitigate the effects of climate changes and achieve the energetic independency.

- To create new driving forces for the economic growth.

- To improve the quality of life and the Korean international appearance / presence.
