APTE PRESENTS THE "SELLO INNOVACIÓN" AWARDS DURING THE 5TH IBERIC MEETING OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PARKS

The General Secretary of Science and Innovation, Juan Tomás Hernani, and APTE's President, Felipe Romera, presented the awards yesterday, during the celebration of the 5th Iberic Meeting of Science & Technology Parks.
The awards, which count with the support of the Ministry of Science & Innovation, have gone to Airbus Military in the category of Best Company, and to Tecnalia Reseach & Innovation and Adif, that shared the award in the category of Best R&D Infrastructure.
Likewise, in this third edition of the contest, APTE has awarded two more entities with a second prize. The Centre de Visió per Computador, located in the Parc de Recerca UAB, and the Prodintec Foundation, located in the Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Gijón have both been awarded in the category of Best R&D Infrastructure. In the Best Company category, the second prizes have gone to the companies Dropsens SL, located in the Parque Tecnológico of Asturias, and to AB-Biotics S.A, that has its principal offices at the Parc de Recerca UAB.
The awards have been presented by the Science & Innovation General Secretary of the Ministry of Science & Innovation, Juan Tomás Hernani and APTE's own president, Felipe Romera, just after the opening ceremony of the 5th Iberic Meeting of Science & Technology Parks. They were also present at the meeting, António Tavares, President of TecParques, Jose Maria Sanz, vice-chancellor of UAM and President of Madrid's Science Park and Antonio Rafael Díaz, General Director of the latter.
In its 5th edition, the Iberic Meeting of Science & Technology Parks brought together in Madrid's Science Park, 90 participants from Spain and Portugal, in a conference where such current matters as the parks' excellence and competitiveness, the bio-incubators' potential, the parks internationalization and the necessary mechanisms that allow these spaces to work in the net, have been treated. In total, 21 speakers from both countries have brought their stances closer over these spaces and the R&D promotion in their institutions.
After these plenary sessions, a company meeting was carried out, between Spanish and Portuguese organizations located in parks, in order to foster the cooperation and internationalization of their companies between the two countries.
This conference besides having been organized by APTE, TecParques (Portuguese Association of Science & Technology Parks) and Madrid's Science Park, it has also been backed by the Enterprise Europe Network and the Ministry Of Science & Technology.
