HIT BARCELONA MEET TO EXPERTS IN INNOVATION, ENTREPRENEURS AND INVESTORS - APTE has participated like collaborating organization

From 17th to 19th of June HIT Barcelona Innovation Summit have been the appointment of the innovation in which they have been gurús important that have offered a series of conferences around the innovation, has taken place the end of the global competition of entrepreneurs and have gone investing international arranged to bet by these companies.


During these 3 days near 2000 people have gone to this event in which they had the opportunity to know differents points of view with respect to the management of the innovation of experts such as Rosabeth Moss, expert in strategy, innovation and leadership of Harvard Business Review, Ray Kurzweil, to which the TIME magazine compares with Thomas Edison and Gary Hamel, to which Fortune magazine describes like the main world-wide expert on enterprise strategy.


These experts have realised exhibitions on the theory and the practice of the innovation having displayed the key tendencies and indicating that the promotion of the creativity, new practices and the eradication of the fear to the change and the failure are aspects strategic to face the future.


The first edition of the world-wide summit of innovation HIT Barcelona has concentrated in three of the economic sectors with potential major of growth: Telecommunications, Cleantech (renewable, clean and alternative energies) and Healthcare (biotechnology and sciences of the health). The Innovation Marketplaces dedicated to these three sectors has been celebrated during two days and has reunited to managers of companies, enterprise investors and innovators with ideas and projects in search of financing. In this frame three sectorial matches of innovation have been celebrated in which 37 companies have participated competing by the recognition of the investors and the resources necessary to impel their projects.


The winners of these competitions have been:


  • - Telecom: Ident Technology (Germany) and Electro Power Systems (Italy).
  • - Cleantech: Air Water Treatment (Spain), Beepo (China) and Sixtron Advanced Materials (Canada).
  • - Healthcare: Serodus (Norway), SpinX Technologies (Switzerland) and Starlab (Spain).

Another one of the most outstanding aspects of this event has been the celebration of the first edition of Global Entrepreneurship Competition (GEC), a unique competition on business plans developed by startups with more potential of growth of the world.

In the competition have taken part participants coming from the best schools of business like the MIT or the University of Cambridge, of universities, scientific and technology parks, incubators and of national contests of all the countries including the Spanish (Enterprising Prize XXI of the Caixa and Forum of Investment of Acció CIDEM/COPCA).

28 entrepreneurs took part in the contest, 4 were Spanish (the 3 awarded by the Enterprising Prize 21st century and the winner of the Forum of Investment of Acció). These companies presented their projects to the attending public between who they were great companies, international strategic and investing partners.


The Spanish companies were the following:


  • BMAT (Barcelona): it is a company of musical technology present in 4 continents with his service of management of musical contents (they are the Google of music). It is the winning company of the contest Enterprising Prize XXI.
  • Histocell (Bilbao): it is located in the Technology Park of Bizkaia and develops products destined to improve the quality of life with biotechnology applied to the human weave engineering. It is the company that has obtained 2º position in Enterprising Prize XXI.
  • Ingenia Telecom (Valencia) TIC company that provides services of optimization of the service of telecommunications networks (Network Optimizer Service). This company has a contract in exclusive feature for Vodafone and has been the company that has obtained the third prize of the Caixa contest, Enterprising Prize XXI.
  • Eyytoo (Barcelona): company located in the Parc Científic of Barcelona dedicated to the disease transmission and contagion control of sexual transmission and nowadays is developing a new method of contraception. It has been the winning company of the Forum of Investment organized by Acció CIDEM/COPCA.

Finally, the winners of the contest have been the Spanish BMAT, the South African The Broccoli Project (Program of management destined to ONG´s of aid to people without resources) and the Polyskin Indian (They develop substitute artificial skin for treatment of burned). Also the best presentation has been recognized: (Echopixel Technologies: development of virtual coloscopy) and the best social value (The Broccoli Project).
