BIOGOLDEN PRESENTS VITASNACK, CRUNCHY VEGGIE AND FRUIT SNACKS
Parque Científico - Tecnológico de Almería (PITA)
August, 2011.-
Biogolden Solutions, a PITA company, has developed and launched their product VitaSnacks on the market. The product line consists of appetizing crunchy veggie and fruit pieces that are produced using the company’s exclusive texturization technique. They are packaged in either attractive cans or appealing snack bags and are rich in natural antioxidants and hydrosoluble fiber, with no fat or added salt.
VitaSnacks’s Crunchy Veggie and Fruit Snacks are already on the market. The product is made to satisfy the needs of consumers looking for snacks that are not only delicious and convenient, but also healthy. VitaSnacks fulfil these expectations as they maintain intense traditional flavour but can be enjoyed anywhere at any time. This unique product is also a source of natural antioxidants without additives, fats, salt, sugar, preservatives or colourings. This product’s unique new crunchy texture makes them a pleasantly surprising treat as well.
Biogolden Solutions, a company of the Almería Science and Technology Park (PITA), uses its TXME technology – which requires no freezing of the product nor exposure to high temperatures, but reduces dehydration time. This exclusive process creates a final product that satisfies new trends in the processed food sector.
VitaSnacks integrate perfectly into the cooking world and both Spanish and Andalusian gastronomy. In the hands of the most freethinking, avant-garde chefs around, those whose philosophy is creativity and innovation, these treats can be used as new ingredients to prepare an endless array of dishes and tasty hors d’oeuvres, or to simply be included as toppings or garnish.
Tomato, pepper and onion… to get started
During this first phase of the national product launch, Biogolden chose to dedicate production to three crops that are emblematic of farming regions where they come from; namely tomatoes, peppers and onions. The company is already looking to introduce new products to the market soon; these would be both vegetables (carrots, beetroot, courgettes, etc.) and fruit (apples, pears, kiwi, bananas, berries, etc.).
VitaSnacks, which are being marketed towards the culinary sector as well, are made using technology applications that have only been developed in recent years. The process begins with an extremely thorough selection process of fresh fruit or vegetables. They are then cut by hand and later go through a gentle pre-dehydration phase. The next step is texturization, which uses an expanded microperforation technique, followed by final dehydration that provides crunchiness. In order to preserve the exceptional characteristics of these snacks, they come in a moisture barrier bag inside an aluminium can that protects them from external elements. VitaSnacks are sold in 425ml and 1 litre jars.
VitaSnacks can already be found at certain restaurants in Malaga, like Alpunto, La Meridiana del Alabardero / Taberna del Alabardero (Marbella) and the wine and gastronomy club - Vinaliti; or also in Seville at the restaurant Lumbrera Tapas.
